Thanks for the pep talk, and the link on EM/heroism.  So pop EM *after* heroism ends, or you lose the benefits.

As usual, my playtime is teh sucketh (though I'm now 4/6 on dissertation chapters!) but I'm hoping to investigate some crafted items and see if that can't help catch up my gearing a bit.  Trying to get in VoA and alt runs too, when schedule allows - now if only the Alliance would control WG more often!  Undecided

While I havn't been Enhancment since BC, I can help with the Elemental. Elemental Shamans, while their rotation is stupidly easy, you base a lot off of luck with the class. There's a lot of speculation and epeen size contests between the Crit and Haste Shamans but in all reality it just needs to be balanced. The truth is that Elemental Shamans are as boring as every other caster. Why? Because your main stat is Spellpower. Spellpower helps everything you do 100%. Haste doesn't effect instant casts, and Haste doesn't effect the extra procs you get, it just gives you slightly faster casting, which is great, but should NEVER be focused on. Crit is great, you should have a lot, but it still should not be your focus. It is all chance, sure it gives you the 10% damage increase buff, but it will come with the gear.

Glyphing, I personally would go with Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst, and Totem of Wrath, I choose these because Totem of Wrath is a small spellpower buff, Lava burst is the second highest thing on your damage list incresed by 10%, and lightning bolt is 4% damage increase to the absolute highest thing on your list and that's base damage.

As for casting, The rules are simple.
If Flame shock is on the tarfet and Lava burst is up, use it.
If Flame Shock is not on the target, get it on.
If lava burst is on cooldown and Flameshock has plenty of time on it, Chain lightning if it's not off cooldown and you're allowed to use spread damage(AoE)
If all the rest are not possible, spam the hell out of Lightning bolt.

Easy rules to follow for an elemental Shaman DPS.

Hey thanks for the reply!

I think I've got it all figured out (I pulled 9.5k on Festerface this weekend in 10 man!)  but I'm going to bookmark this post just to check in and make sure I'm not dong anything stupid again.
